Energy Services is looking for a Temporary Meter Reader
(Approximate Time Frame is December 2017 - May 2018)

Under the direction of the Electrical Systems Supervisor or designee, reads, records and reports commercial and residential electric and water meters to determine consumption and inspects meters for leaks, broken glass, seal malfunctions, defects, tampering and unauthorized connections. Subject to after hours and weekend work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid driver's license upon hire date.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of Richland City streets and businesses.
- Prior experience using a handheld input device, and preferably a meter reading handheld device such as an I-Tron handheld.
- Experience working independently and meeting scheduled commitments.
- Ability to work around animals such as dogs, cows and horses, and ability to deal with spiders, bugs and occasional snakes.
- Prior experience working outdoors all year long, including inclement weather conditions.
Supplemental Information:Selection will be based on overall qualifications, skills testing (if applicable) and an interview. Final selection will be based on a comprehensive background/reference check and a pre-employment physical commensurate to the position.
