Job Title: Accountant

Job Description: Voltera is seeking an experienced and collaborative Accountant to join their team. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for various accounting duties, including financial reporting, account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, audit preparations, and more. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently, possess critical thinking and analytical skills, and be highly collaborative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze financial data and create reports on financial status
  • Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing
  • Review general ledger reports for proper coding and cutoff
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Provide in-depth analysis of operational and project costs
  • Review and analyze monthly variances, investigating and resolving any discrepancies
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and streamline processes
  • Ensure compliance with sales & use tax reporting requirements
  • Partner with the business to provide timely and accurate reports for financial decisions
  • Support internal and external audits and analysis requests as needed
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Ability to adapt to changing business requirements
  • Experience preparing and analyzing general ledger account reconciliations
  • Strong attention to detail, reporting, communication, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills

Nice-to-Have:

  • CPA or CMA certification
